I have owned three of these because it's the only flash that will fit my camera. The plastic shoe breaks after a very short time. why can't you make the shoe/slide out of metal so it will last longer.

Great flash, used it on my CD1000 and now on my F828, no problems with it. Battery very long, I shot for 10hrs on and off with the flash and never replaced the batteries.
