IOGEAR's print server allows for printing, scanning and faxing over a network
IOGEAR has announced a new USB printer server that allows multi-function printers to operate over a network. Unlike many other print servers on the market, IOGEAR's GMFPSU01 allows for two-way communication between printer and PC. This means that ink and toner levels can be monitored and faxes can be sent and received. The print server even allows for document and image scanning over the network.
Mirand Su, IOGEAR's vice president of sales remarks: "In the past, many small and home offices have not had the ability to set up networked printers, and this can be costly due to the fact that users had to purchase multiple printers for employees. By enabling a connection to the network port, our new print server enables multiple users to share one multi-function printer in order to meet all of their printing, faxing and scanning needs."
The USB 1.1 based GMFPSU01 features an auto-sensing 10/100Base-T port and uses a web-based interface for configuration. |

IOGEAR's palm-sized USB Multi-Function Print Server allows any networked computer to share a USB Multi-Function Printer (MFP). This multi-function server goes a step beyond ordinary print servers by allowing multiple network users to Print, Scan, and Fax using the same Multi-Function Printer. This eliminates the need to purchase multiple expensive MFPs as all you need to share the printer is a connection to the print server's network port. It complies with USB 1.1 specifications, and provides users with an auto-sensing 10/100Base-T port. The print server will even automatically identify your printer make/model upon connection. The built-in web management feature provides more convenience by allowing the user to configure, monitor and even reset the print server via a web browser.
